Welcome!
Hey!
Welcome to our new blog! This year we decided that we were going to take our beautiful Spaniel, Sophie, and have her pair up with our friends Cocker, in the hopes they produce some cute little puppies.
This is the first time we have tried to breed and raise puppies, so I decided we would record our experiences, both to help other people if they are thinking of going through with the same; and just in case you, Dear Reader, are interested in watching cute puppies grow up (let's face it, who isn't). Over the next few weeks and months, I will be recording the growth of our new mum-to-be and the progress of her puppies. The ups and downs, the ins and outs, the highs and lows as we help Sophie raise her new family.
We hope you enjoy this blog and we look forward to sharing our journey with you!
Love from all at Our First Puppies!
Full disclosure: We will be selling most, if not all, of the puppies. We already have 3 dogs and don't currently have plans to have more. If you disagree with this, feel free to discuss on this page, but our stance is that good, knowledgable, responsible home breeders are one of the better ways to produce dogs for a large market. We are not a puppy farm. We will be interviewing all the prospective owners as we endeavour to find the best home for each of the animals. Whilst we have never bred and raised puppies before, we have vetinary nurse experience and one of our closest friends is a vetinarian who will be on hand to give us lots of advice, especially through the tricky birth period. We will do our best to post costs as we go (in GBP) so you can get an idea of all the costs of doing this, as well as the eventual fees we receive selling the pups.

| The gorgeous Sophie on the right. Old boy, Twix, on the left is not the father to be. He's been neutered, sadly. |
